Lounging Around

These are all pretty much the same picture, but they were all so cute that I couldn't decide which one or two to post. The weather has been gorgeous, so this weekend Marc and Sam had their breakfast on the patio. Please note the pot to Sam's right--I'm trying to grow some herbs this summer (basil and oregano). Wish me luck!

Ponies and Ducks

Ahhh summer. The weather has been fabulous for a few days--about to dip back into the 40-60 range, starting tomorrow--but warm weather means one thing. PONY HAIR! Mayra does a great job with it and Sam looks so cute when I pick her up. I can never get her pigtails to look this good.

Sam always demands that I put Jokie on her "han," she really means her arm. Some times Jokie sticks around and goes for a ride, and other times he decides he really doesn't trust the munchkin human and flies away. P.S. footie jammies are so cute and I'll be sad when she doesn't wear them any more!

Sam loves flowers! One of the many, many words she's saying now. Cute side story--she now says "thank you" every time I open a door for her....she's a very polite little girl!Sam prepares to read War & Peace. Oh, wait, it's actually probably a book about a frog or Elmo.

Our back-up sitter was wonderful last week. Sam had a great time with Jayden, Connor, and Isaac!

Nine Feet Tall

Here is Sam going for a ride with Jay....it takes her a few minutes with "strangers" but then she has a great time!

Sam ate her "pasa" all by herself (can you tell?). The slightly terrified look on her face was because she was still getting used to Aunt Jay when he came to visit. Thanks for the pic, Jay!

Attack of the Toddler

We have Sam at our "back-up" sitter this week. She's really great, and if we in the market for a full-time sitter, she would totally get the job. She moved here from England a few years ago and has a 5 year old and an 18 month old. Wednesday afternoon, Sam and Jayden (the other toddler) were standing on the couch looking out the window, and Mandy slipped out of the living room to get them cookies. A couple of seconds later, she heard screaming and crying so she ran back in. I don't know what Sam did to provoke him--maybe nothing, but I doubt it--Jayden had leaned in and bit her on the cheek! This picture didn't come out the way I wanted, but there is a mouth-shaped imprint on her left cheek. No harm, no foul, they've pretty much played together nicely ever since so maybe it was an initiation of some kind.

Sam bit me last night when I was trying to get her jammies on and she was yelled at, big time. I've heard that toddlers go through this biting phase and it is so not cool!

QUACK

This is what Sam wore for the Seder...ducks, everywhere! Duck dress, duck toys, duck duck duck. Goose.

Pictureless

I was out of town all weekend, and somehow Daddy managed to take zero pictures! So I don't have any right now but will try to remember to take one tonight. Sam is at the backup sitter this week. Yesterday she had some sharing issues with Jayden, the sitter's son, but they worked it out and played nicely the rest of the day. I'm sure Sam is thrilled that she is spending the week with a "May-meow" (cat), as she really does love animals. She cried last night when I put Jokie on her arm and he flew away--she kept crying "han! han!" because she wanted him back on her hand.

Ducks and Bubbles

Sam LOVES her bath time. She loves to splash, scoot, and play with her ducks (what does a duck say? According to Sam, it says "duck duck." LOL.)

Recurring Themes

Sam with beer, Sam in the living room, Sam at the park....this is from Sunday, when we all went to a park in Williamsburg so Daddy could practice softball and Mommy and Sam had fun on the swings and slides.

I wish I'd gotten more pictures, but it's hard to take pictures when chasing a toddler all over the playground!

Beeeeeeeeeeeeer

It's hard to tell the difference between her pronunciations of "beer" and "bear," but here is she is definitely saying beer. She wanted Daddy's grilling beer, which he has every time the grill goes on. Needless to say, her choices were milk and water, but not beer!

Visit with Grandma and Grandpa

Grandma and Grandma came to visit a couple of weekends ago, and babysat while Mommy and Daddy went to dinner with Elyce and Craig. Fondue, yum!
