Old MacDonald Had a Sam

Sunday, we went to the Queens County Farm with our playgroup. It was so big and noisy that we didn't end up hanging around with the other kids and moms much, but it was nice. Sam loved seeing all the animals!

Running around on the grass when we first arrived:

I admit I spent lots of time saying "thank you," responding to comments of "she's sooooo cute!" (Yes, she is!):

GET DOWN!

We haven't been able to put her picnic table out, because every time we do, THIS happens!

Lots of great pics coming later this week from our trip to the Queens County Farm!

Sam's First Haircut!

Sam had her very first official haircut Saturday! She was a good girl, although she was antsy by the end so it took a while for the haircut lady to get her bangs done. She looks like such a big girl now!

The Weather Outside is Frightful

So it's time to bring out the humiliating winter gear!

Flight of the Bumble Sam

Here is the Halloween costume I bought for Sam last week. It is more "cute" than "humiliating," which is what we were initially going for, but we do have a couple more years to find something embarrassing for future-boyfriend photos!

She isn't actually going to Trick or Treat--Mommy has a dinner to go to that night anyway--but if the weather cooperates, we're going out to a festival on Sunday and she will wear it then.

Little Pink Panther

A panther? Or a leopard? We received a box of clothes from Risa this weekend (thanks!!!) and this was in it:

Party Time, Part II

Samantha in the bouncy castle. She had a great time in it and seemed to understand that it's for bouncing and flailing around:

Oops! All that flailing caused a minor spill:

Ooooo more balls--her favorite toy. Maybe she'll grow up to be a softball player.

The mother lode:

I don't know how she sits and sleeps the way she does--doesn't this look uncomfortable? But she's clearly happy with her toy:

Party Time

One more day-in-Manhattan pic--Sam finishing off Daddy's ice cream cone. Mmmmmm!

Sunday afternoon I took Sam to the first annual Moms group party. The organizer of the group used the leftover money from dues to throw the soiree.

Sam hanging out with another kid:

Walking around with a tennis ball:

Fascinated by Cido the Clown's bird trick. Sam was actually pretty good for part of his magic act. She sat quietly next to Mommy while everyone else was sitting. After five minutes, though, she was off like a shot and I missed the rest of Cido's act.

Pushing a shopping cart. She LOVES pushing things. Last night she got behind me while I was in the rocking chair and pushed!

Sam & the City: Part III, the Final Chapter

We continue to explore the wonders of Central Park and Manhattan:

By a different part of the lake, approximately where Daddy asked Mommy to marry him (we were on a rowboat):

At Strawberry Fields, the John Lennon memorial:

Outside the Dakota, the co-op building where John Lennon lived and in front of which he was killed:

In front of Mommy's first Manhattan apartment, just three blocks from the Dakota:

Ding! Sam wakes up just in time to explore the Time Warner Center, the flashy new building on the corner of Broadway & 59th that contains corporate offices, very expensive apartments and very expensive stores. Marc went into a store that had a pair of jeans for sale for over $250 (WHAT???). Mommy did buy a new Calphalon fry pan/egg poacher, though, and she is very happy with that purchase!

Sam & the City: Part II

After our stops at the sand-filled playground and the merry-go-round (no good pics from that), Daddy and I were anxious to share the majesties of Central Park with Samantha. She was duly impressed.

Sam & the City

Saturday we took Sam into Manhattan on the train to see Central Park. It was a beautiful day, and we spent most of it in the park strolling around. Sam was fascinated by the sand at the playground!

We had a doctor appointment Saturday morning. She's still a little peanut, 19.4 pounds and 29.5 inches tall. The doctor wants us to fatten her up with Pediasure, a thick drink, but that is difficult right now because she's refusing to take liquids. Her molars have broken through and I think her mouth is hurting her. Hopefully she'll start drinking more soon--it's hard to watch her go from 24 oz or milk a day to 6 or 8 ounces of water (if we're lucky).

When Mommy Goes Bye-Bye

This is what happens when I leave for the gym before she goes to bed and say bye-bye to her. Now I just have Marc distract her and sneak out!

Little Red Sammy Hood

Yes, it's the return of the red hoodie! They're acting as jammies right now, but will probably be daytime wear this winter.

I know I'm not supposed to play with the bird cage, but I'm going to anyway:

Where's the birdie?

I took this out of my drawer when Mommy wasn't looking, now it's my blanket:

Hahahahahahaha!

Ready for my closeup!

International Woman of Mystery

Sam played dress up Sunday when Aunt Elyce and Craig came over for dinner. Here she is, modeling the latest in vest and eye wear!

Bring Out the Hose

Daddy gave Sam some yogurt and a spoon on Saturday. She ended up covered in it, even worse than the last time (which has it's own post). The good news is, she managed to get about a third of it in her tummy, which isn't bad at all. It's just the cleanup that is no fun!

Strike a Pose

Sam doesn't understand the concept of posing for a picture yet. Every time she sees the camera, she runs to it, and I have to hurry to get a picture snapped. In the first pic, she's playing with her Exersaucer (I haven't put her in that thing for months) and the remaining pictures are my attempt to get a happy, smiling shot of Sam.
