One Little Monkey, Jumping on the Bed...

I had to take the mattress out of the crib last week to change the sheets and waterproof pad after someone had a leak (two nights in a row, as a matter of fact). A pack of Huggies Overnites and the problem has been solved.

Sam enjoyed running around on the mattress. She is definitely not ready for a big girl bed yet, but probably in a year or so...

Uh Oh, Spaghetti-Os

We dirty two or three spoons per meal now, because Sam insists on having her own and eventually will take the one I'm using, too.

See, Mommy? I CAN feed myself!

Two spoons are better than one:

Uh-oh! Dropped them? What do I do now?

Of course! I use my hands, then smear it all over my face!

A look of disdain as she knows Mommy is coming at her with a washcloth:

Fashion Plate

Here is Sam in one of her new fall outfits. It looks really cute with a long sleeved t-shirt and jeans under it. We raided Old Navy on Saturday for some warmer clothes, now that the temp is dipping under 60 in the morning.

Gym Class

This session, Sam is in Gym & Swim--a half hour of gym followed by a half hour of swim. "Gym class" is really just a bunch of toddlers running wild for half an hour. We play with the parachute every class, and make a half hearted attempt at running between cones, but for the most part it's every baby for herself.

Teaching Sam to share is something we are struggling with. She's a little too young to get it, but already she doesn't hesitate going up to another kid if that kid has something she wants. And she just takes it. She's gonna be a handful...

Don't Mean a Thing if You Ain't Got That Swing

(Have I used that line before? Can't remember!) Here's a few pics from last weekend. I have newer ones that haven't been downloaded yet. Her lip looks much better now!

Sam did not get her hair cut this weekend. When 1pm rolled around and she hadn't napped yet, I called to cancel it. Sure enough, she went out around 1:30 and didn't wake up until 4. Daddy is busy this coming weekend so I will try to reschedule it for the first weekend in October.

Also, Sam is battling a cold right now. She didn't wake up in the middle of the night last night so I think it's minor.

The white building behind Sam is her pediatrician's office. :-)

I Want My Baby Back Baby Back Baby Back Baby Back

A couple of weeks ago, we took Sam to Chili's for dinner. We almost got our food to go and left, because she was being impossible. I had to take her outside for a bit to calm her down, and a nice lady gave her a balloon which pacified her for a bit.

Entertaining herself with crayons:

Eating crayons (yes, she took a couple of bites throughout the meal before we could stop her):

She became really angry and riled up when she couldn't have Daddy's margarita, and after he took it away and hid it behind a menu, she insisted loudly that she wanted Mommy's wine:

Scene of the Crime

Here are a few pics from the block party, where she tumbled down the stairs. She had a great time despite the accident!

Hmmmm, I kind of like the ride....

But I'd rather push!

Here she is pushing Ozzie, who I think is a bit older than her. She's a strong little girl.

Oops

Sam and I went out to another mom's house Saturday afternoon while Daddy was at the Mets game. Her street was having a block party, with entertainment for the kids and a yummy grilled dinner. I turned my back for five seconds to buy some raffle tickets, and Sam scrambled up the neighbor's steps. When I turned around, all I saw was her tumbling down the steps. :-( She split her lip open pretty good, it took us 15 minutes or so to stop the bleeding. She's fine now, except for the sore on her lip! It doesn't seem to hurt her, though, which is good.

Sam's first hair cut is scheduled for Saturday afternoon!

So Happy Together

This is a birdie post, not a baby post. Tali spent 10 days with us recently, so I thought I'd share this nice shot of the two of them.

Happy Friday!

A New Way to Mess with the Bird

So then she took the climbing a little too far. As soon as I noticed, I started saying "Sam! Sam! No! Too high! But wait...until I get a picture!" Ha. That's why we keep the tray on the chair now, unless we expressly want her in it and are watching!

Ain't No Highchair High Enough

I was stunned last week when I was on the couch reading a book, looked up, and saw Sam sitting in her highchair! She's quite the climber. She sure surprised Daddy the next day when I said "Sam! Go get in your highchair for dinner!" and she did! Now we put the tray on if we don't want her climbing--tomorrow's picture will illustrate why we have to stop her unless we want her in there for a meal.

Happy Kid (Counter Post to Meltdown)

Meltdown

I don't remember what she was being all drama queen about here, but I'm sure it was something silly. Luckily, unless she's tired, the screaming is over almost before it begins.

The Big Girl Tub

She still kind of fits in the toddler tub that goes in the sink, but it is just easier to put her in the big tub now. She's totally comfortable in the water but doesn't like it when I rinse her hair since she usually gets water in her face. Her favorite part is getting wrapped in the towel and grinning at herself in the mirror after the bath!

Why Yogurt and Babies Don't Mix

Blockhead

Daddy amused Sam this week by building a tall tower of blocks. Whenever it fell over, she would say "Oh"--her way of saying "Uh Oh!" Later, Daddy hasn't heard any noise from her bedroom for awhile so he went to check on her. She decided all of that tower-building took up too much energy and she put herself down for a nap. As far as we know, that's the first time she's ever done that!

Pool Time

We were in Jersey last weekend to hang out with our friends Steve and Lori and a few other people. Sam had a great time playing with Zach and Jessica and we all enjoyed the water!

She has no fear at all--just walked right off the edge to Mommy's arms!

Freshly Scrubbed

Here is Sam right after her bath! I'm off today and Friday to spend all day with Sam. I'm very excited--she is so much fun right now. Last night I got home late from work and spent the next hour playing "chase" and "hide and seek" before giving her her final bottle and having her fall asleep on me.

The absolute BEST was when I came home, she came tearing out of her room with her arms stretched out, waiting for a hug!

Don't I look clean?

The Ugly Picture:

My hair is so long, almost time for a haircut!

The Sammy Dance

Here is Sam, doing her little dance. She doesn't even need music, just tell her to "dance dance" and she picks up her feet and shakes it!

The Days are Flying By

I haven't updated for almost a week! I do have a lot of pictures, I promise. I will post some tonight. Right now, I have to go get ready for work--Mayra is on vacation this week, so Daddy is staying home today and tomorrow, and I am off Thursday and Friday. I'm excited for my two day work week!
