More of the Same

Here's a few more pictures from Monday. I haven't broken the camera out since then!

Sam is really starting to act like a toddler instead of a baby. She is so active--and interactive! She loves to play the "give it to Mommy" game. She will be holding something, and I say "give the keys to Mommy!" and she passes them over. I then respond "thank you!" and ask if Sammy would like the keys..."there you go!" She loves it!

I love these close-up silly shots:

Up on the Roof

I took enough pictures yesterday to keep the blog going for a few days. :-)

Sam was a lot better yesterday, her cold seems to be subsiding and she is eating and sleeping like a champ.

Sunday night, we went to our friend Eddie's for some BBQ and cards. We set up the pack and play in his living room and put Sam down to sleep. She was practically ricocheting off the pack and play walls--it was hilarious! AND--big news--she stood a few times without holding on, and would take one halting step and then fall. She's still probably a month or two away from walking. I have a feeling she's not trying terribly hard because she is such a fast crawler--if she can get from point A to point B so quickly, why bother walking?

Opening the window to the playhouse on the roof...where is Sammy?

Boogerhead

Sam has developed another minor (at least I hope minor) cold. There isn't any coughing associated with it, just a bit of congestion and a runny, snotty nose. And she HATES the snot sucker, so it's unpleasant business all around. It's possible that this is all caused by teething, but her babysitter hasn't felt great for the last two days and the little boy who is also watched by her has a cold as well.

I tried to take some pictures last night, but the battery on the camera was dead--again. We have rechargables that have outlived their usefulness and they die like every 30 minutes. We'll replace them in the next day or two. It's supposed to be a fine weekend in NYC, so hopefully we'll be outside a lot with many opportunities for cute pictures!

Enjoy your Thursday!

Sam Goes Partying--Final Chapter

I thought I'd add a couple of pictures that I didn't post, because I don't have any new ones! I'll snap more tonight and over the weekend...

Sam Goes Partying Part II

I forgot to mention yesterday that Sam's two top front teeth broke through over the weekend! They aren't all the way in yet but they are through the gum. So that's four teeth if you're keeping track.

Also, over the weekend she finally figured out to hold her bottle and feed herself. She's not doing it all the time, and hasn't done more than an ounce at a time, but it's a great start. AND...drum roll...last night she picked up a Cheerio and fed it to herself! Yay! The other fifteen ended up on the floor, of course, but little victories...

And now on to the pictures:

Sam Goes Partying

We went to a one-year birthday party for our friend Vimy (I met her parents through a working moms group I joined a few months ago). They rented a blow-up play castle for the kiddies to play in. Lots of good food and good conversation. It was a wonderful day!

In other news, Sam went to the doctor Saturday. It was just a follow-up since she'd had some fluid in her ear at the last appointment. It's gone now so we don't have to worry about medicine. She weighs roughly 18 pounds, no height check this visit. In another month we get to start switching her to whole milk--yippee, no more cans of formula!

The poor thing was cranky this weekend. Yesterday afternoon my friend Karen came over and Sam had a complete meltdown. I tried rocking her and she was squirming out of my arms, so I put her in her crib and shut the door. Big mistake. The crying turned to wailing then turned to screaming, and then she barfed. It broke my heart that when I picked her up, she was practically hyperventilating. After that it only took me about five minutes to get her back down and she slept for almost two hours. On the bright side, she put herself to sleep last night and slept through.

One last note--Karen came over and we made dandelion wine. It will be ready in three or four weeks, so if you're swinging by in June, ask me for a taste of my moonshine. :-)

Bed Head

This is Sam within 60 seconds of waking up this morning. She had a bath last night and fell asleep with her hair slightly wet!

We saw Grandpa for a bit yesterday. I walked into the restaurant where they were, and only Grandpa was there. Turns out Daddy had given Sam a few bites of people food and she proceeded to...let's just say she needed to have her clothes changed. And a bath. :-)

Out of Touch

Sorry I haven't posted the last few days. The new job is keeping me really busy and I just haven't had time. I don't have any new pictures but will get some over the next few days.

Sam is learning how to give kisses...she leans in with her mouth open and considers that a kiss. :-) She also stood up in her crib without holding on the other day. Admittedly, she was leaning against the crib bars but it was the first time I'd seen her do that. She also seems to be growing rather fond of Elmo and will sit relatively still when I read her the Elmo book called "Puppies."

That's all for now--hope everyone is having a good day!

The Littlest Mets Fan

Sam went to her very first Mets game Saturday! She behaved splendidly, although we did leave in the seventh inning because she was getting tired.

Short Attention Span

These photos were all snapped within about a minute of each other. She has the attention span of a fruit fly!

Hey Mommy, let's play!

Hmmmm this looks cool...(it's a book you can't see)

Let's move on....

Ooooooo this one makes music!

Eh, I'm bored now, I better dash into the bathroom, remove as much toilet paper from the roll as possible, then sit down and shred it into tiny pieces so Mommy has something to do tonight!

The Next Step

Photobucket

Oh no here she goes! Aunt Risa gave us this walking toy and Sam LOVES it. We take her out into the hallway almost every day now so she has a long straight path for cruising. She does very well with it--probably because she uses a walker at the sitter's so she is familiar with the concept. I'll try to get some video this weekend.

By the way, I do want everyone to know that we do dress Sam in clothes other than the red striped hoodie. As a matter of fact, she gets into pajamas every night (as Mommy sings "Sammy's in her Jammies!") and we change her clothes every day. It just so happens that we have been taking pictures for some reason when she is wearing the red striped hoodie. So there. :-)
