We went to a one-year birthday party for our friend Vimy (I met her parents through a working moms group I joined a few months ago). They rented a blow-up play castle for the kiddies to play in. Lots of good food and good conversation. It was a wonderful day!
In other news, Sam went to the doctor Saturday. It was just a follow-up since she'd had some fluid in her ear at the last appointment. It's gone now so we don't have to worry about medicine. She weighs roughly 18 pounds, no height check this visit. In another month we get to start switching her to whole milk--yippee, no more cans of formula!
The poor thing was cranky this weekend. Yesterday afternoon my friend Karen came over and Sam had a complete meltdown. I tried rocking her and she was squirming out of my arms, so I put her in her crib and shut the door. Big mistake. The crying turned to wailing then turned to screaming, and then she barfed. It broke my heart that when I picked her up, she was practically hyperventilating. After that it only took me about five minutes to get her back down and she slept for almost two hours. On the bright side, she put herself to sleep last night and slept through.
One last note--Karen came over and we made dandelion wine. It will be ready in three or four weeks, so if you're swinging by in June, ask me for a taste of my moonshine. :-)
